Cards from my January Class

My answer to the always difficult "Man card"! In fact, I sent this to my FIL for his birthday this month! The stamp set "Serene Silhouettes" is stamped on Very Vanilla paper using Early Espresso Classic Ink, then layered on a piece of Early Espresso. A Crumb cake background was embossed using the "Argyle" embossing folder. I used Cherry Cobbler embossing powder for the greeting and accented the card with Cherry Cobbler ribbon and butterflies cut with the "Beautiful Wings" embosslit! Accents of mini pearls finished off the card!

Next, we used the "Swallowtail" stamp from the Spring mini catalog. The stamp was embossed in white on Basic Black paper, with layers of Whisper White, and Mellon Mambo on a base layer of Basic Gray. A "flag" of Melon Mambo was added to carry the greeting. (Wonderful Words is a retired set I can't give up!)

Scrapbook Weekend!

Last weekend I went to a marathon scrapping event and caught up on the whole year for 2012! (Seventy 12" x 12" pages!) Here are a few examples (meant to encourage those of you who may be scared off by the concept of scrapping) of my VERY simple style! I rely heavily on designer paper with coordinated mats for a few pictures per page. I will generally put a simple title and sometimes (but not often) a short bit of journaling! As you can see, my gorgeous grandchildren are my favorite subjects!

Birthdays!

There are a lot of birthdays in October (including mine so if you wish to send flowers, jewels, $$$$$... hahahaha!) so I figured I'd better get cracking! First is the card I made for my 7 year old Granddaughter. I used a retired set (By The Sea) that I just can't give up. I embossed the accent piece with the "Elegant Bouquet" folder and painted the image using Water Color Wonder crayons!

Next I needed a feminine card for some very special ladies, so I went back to the Triple Time Technique, this time using the "Papaya Collage" stamp set. The card stock is Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla accented with some Cherry Cobbler seam binding. The roses and greeting are done with Cherry Cobbler Classic ink and the leaves were done using Sahara Sand!

Evergreen Glitter!

During our most recent class, we repeated the use of the "Evergreen" stamp set with very different results from the last time! Using our Stamp-a-ma-jig, we stamped the solid tree image in Certainly Celery and the outline of the branches in Always Artichoke. We accented the branches using "Dazzling Details" glitter glue and added a rhinestone "star" on the top! We added the Certainly Celery ribbon then matted the image on Always Artichoke then Certainly Celery on a Very Vanilla base!

Triple Time!

Both of these cards are done using the Triple Time technique, but with different colored mats! Midnight Muse, Marina Mist and Crumb Cake were used to stamp the 3 different sized snowflakes from the "Snowswirled" set onto "Very Vanilla". Using first a Midnight Muse set of mats and then the Marina Mist mats (accompanied by matching ribbon) you can see the difference one small change makes! For the Midnight Muse card, the greeting was embossed in gold then punched out with the large oval punch and sponged on the edges with gold ink. The Marina Mist card has the greeting stamped in Midnight muse, then punched and sponged with the darker blue!

Ornament Keepsake Cards

These cards were made with the Ornament Keepsake Bundle (the Ornament Keepsake stamp set PLUS the   Holiday Ornaments Sizzix Framelit! The gold and white card gets its "bling" by embossing the greeting and two of the ornaments with gold EP and adding some "basic pearls" and organdy ribbon to the ornaments. The "base" of the larger ornament was stamped with Soft Suede classic ink and they were popped up with dimensionals. A small piece of Brushed Gold paper, accents the layer which was first (partially) embossed and then edged with the Adorning Accents Edgelits.  The blue card uses another stamp/framelit combination stamped in Midnight Muse before it is cut out and adorned with more pearls and Ribbon. A backdrop of  some "Comfort Cafe" DP and a "Scallop Trim Border" in whisper white makes for an elegant final product

Something Old, Something New!

This card is for my son and DIL's 11th Anniversary! I used Old Olive card stock and ink with the "Forever with You" stamp set as well as the "Top Note Bigz" die on some retired DSP.

I also used Pink Pirouette to stamp the background flowers using the retired set "Inspired by Nature". The card was finished off by adding the two butterflies ("Elegant Butterfly" punch) embellished with some strips of pearls from the "Pearl Basic Jewels".
