Christmas Cards!

These cards are all variations on the "Gold and White" theme I so love for Christmas! All of the main images are embossed with Gold Embossing Powder and backed with Gold paper. The background of the top card (with "Dasher") is just dry embossed using a cuttlebug and SU! folder. The center card  is also dry embossed but gold ink is rolled onto the embossing folder BEFORE embossing. The bottom card takes the process one step further... Before embossing, the folder is rolled with versamark..after embossing, the background is embossed with a mixture of Gold EP and Irridescent Ice EP! Very sparkly!

Gratitude!

We made this card at a recent class. The colors (inks and paper) are More Mustard, Elegant Eggplant and Garden Green. I ran the Mustard background piece partially though the basketweave embossing folder and finished with some ribbon (Wild Wasabi) and a button! Great Thanksgiving Card!

For Fallon's Birthday!

My beautiful granddaughter is having a tie-dye themed party for her 6th birthday! SO, I dragged out the glossy paper, a brayer and a kaleidascope pad of my own making (with So Saffron, Old Olive, Not Quite navy and Really Rust) and used the bouncing brayer technique to make a tie-dyed effect! I hope she likes it!

It's been a While!

Wow! Did I fall off the blogging wagon! It's July already and I haven't been very good about posting! I'll try to catch up in the next couple of days- PROMISE!! Here is the most recent card we did at our New Catalog open house! Very simple with ocean-esque (just made that up!) colors  (Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy, Sahara Sand)- plus a little Real Red to give it some zing! The stamp set is from the 2011-2012 SU! Idea Book and Catalog and is called "Uncharted Territory"! PERFECT for those difficult guy cards.
The image is stamped in Basic Black on watercolor paper and colored using water color crayons (in Marina Mist, Crumb Cake and Basic Grey) which were blended with the Blender Pens. The Real Red accent was done using the Stampin' Write Marker and the sky was done by sponging a bit of Bashful Blue.

Sheer Bliss

I love this stamp set (Bliss) and one of the BEST things about it, is that it was FREE during Sale-a-bration! I used Rich Razzleberry paper, ink and grosgrain ribbon, embossed the whisper white background with the new tulip embossing folder and added a half pearl to the cut-out butterfly! The Crumb Cake background for the butterfly has another of the "bliss" stamps embossed with white embossing powder. Perfect for a wedding or other happy occasion!

Night time Nature

Making cards with a masculine feel are always a bit of a challenge, but I think this one will work! It is a bit of a twist on the positive/negative technique in that the grass from the Inspired by Nature set was first stamped in White craft ink on Basic Black paper and then on Whisper White paper using Basic Black classic ink. We used the large circle punch to create a moon and then matched up the images! Easy peasy! A Basic Grey background adds a bit of dimension.

Build A Cupcake!

This stamp set and the punch are both featured in the Occasions Mini Catalog! A combination of stamping and punching made this card a LOT of fun to make! Card stock used was Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi, Real Red (for the Cherries!) and Whisper White (embossed with a swirly pattern first so it looked like frosting! Yum!) Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi and Chocolate Chip inks were used to stamp the cupcake bottoms and the greeting.

I LOVE Red & Black!

I recently participated in a swap with some very talented Splitcoast Stampers  making cards from the Occasions Mini Catalog. (You already saw my "Easter Blossoms" design below). These two cards used a stunning color combo I just can't resist! The one on the left (made by ttaves) used the "Valentine Defined" stamp set, with Real Red, Basic Black and Whisper White paper, and embellished with red Glimmer paper and the Framed Tulip embossing folder. The card on the right (made by Britbook70) used "Take a Spin" and "A Word for You" stamps, Basic Black, Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla and Love Letter (Designer Paper). She embossed the DP with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder and added the Game Spinner hands and Basic Blac Taffeta Ribbon as accents! Fabulous job Ladies!!!

Valentine Card

We made this card at my most recent class! I LOVE the Love Impressions designer paper! (The sheet we used has no embossing on it but the other patterns in the collection did, and they are fabulous! I'll be using them for scrap book pages in the future, no doubt.)
Card stock used is Pink Pirouette (for the base), 5 1/4" x 4" Basic Grey, 5" x 3 3/4" Love Impressions designer paper, 2 1/4" x 3 1/4" Pink Pirouette, and lastly, 2" x 3 " Whisper White. I faked the big bow by just puttin down one strip and tying a not out of a seperate piece of 1" wide Pink Pirouette grosgrain- I attached it with a glue dot. The image is stamped in Basic Black using the Love You Much set then colored with markers. The V then got a dose of red glitter. Finish off with a red brad as the center of a filigree brad and Voila!

Easter Lamb

I had a LOT of fun making this little lamb- he is made completely using SU! punches The large scalloped circle is used to make his body; his ears legs and the fence posts are made using the word punch, his face was made with the small oval punch (cut in about 1/2) and for the fur on his head, I used the scalloped oval punch cut to 1/3 size! The card stock used was Baja Breeze (solid and DP), Not Quite Navy, Garden Green, Whisper White and Basic Black

Easter Blossoms

I just mailed in my offering for a swap on Splitcoast Stampers. Every participant used one of the sets from the new Stamping Up Occasions Mini Catalog! I loved the little girl in the EASTER BLOSSOMS set so that was my stamp choice! She is stamped in Soft Suede on an oval of Very Vanilla card stock, backed by another oval of Rose Red. The Rosettes and the Victorian Lace Ribbon really went with the vintage look I was going for.  I added the fabulous Springtime Vintage designer paper on top of an Always Artichoke layer and, voila! I hope you like it!
